On March 18, 2021, Arkoil specialists attended the 21st edition of the SPE Oloibiri Lecture Series and Energy Forum (OLEF) arranged by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigeria Council. The theme of 2021 OLEF is "Operational Excellence and Portfolio Optimization, way forward for the Oil and Gas Industry post-COVID-19."
The OLEF is an annual lecture series focused on contributing to oil and gas policies development for Nigeria in commemoration of the first oil-well drilled in Nigeria by Shell Darcy at Oloibiri, in Ogbia, Bayelsa State, in 1956.
The annual lecture series attracts participation from the government (Ministry of State for Petroleum Resources, Department of Petroleum Resources, etc.), major oil and gas players (Shell Petroleum, TOTAL, ExxonMobil, Seplat Petroleum, NNPC, NAOC), as well as other key stakeholders from around Africa.
This year's OLEF highlighted the core areas of Digital Transformation, Cost Reduction, Climate Change, and Public Health that must be addressed to enable the oil and gas industry to attain an overall Operational Excellence with multiple opportunities for Portfolio Optimization. This ensures the industry thrives in our ever-evolving business environments particularly in the post-COVID-19 pandemic.
